SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE

STAP Scholarship Assistance

STAP stands for Samahang Tagalog Atbp. sa Ponape, a regional association of Filipinos in Pohnpei whose primary purpose is to encourage Micronesian citizens to pursue a post-high school education by providing scholarship assistance to eligible applicants.  

STAP also encourages fellow bona-fide STAP members who have children, brothers or sisters, or nephews or nieces in the Philippines or Pohnpei pursue a post-high school education resulting in the successful completion of a College Degree. 

Any Filipino child, brother, sister, nephew, or niece of a bona-fide STAP member who is a high school senior, currently-enrolled college student, or high school graduate (or GED) accepted to attend an institution of higher education during the upcoming academic year (see above) will be considered. 

Two (2) scholarships, in the amount of Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars will be awarded annually.  The scholarship will be awarded for study at any college or university in the Philippines.

Each scholarship awarded is limited to $250.00 per semester.  Funds will be distributed on a per semester basis, in the name of the student and the school, and may be used only for valid school-related expenses. 

NOTE:
For this academic year, application for scholarship and accompanying requirements
must be submitted to the STAP Scholarship Committee or any of its designated representatives on or before June 30, 2012.
