Assessment / Fall 2010 > AR 101 – Introduction to Art

FIRST DRAWING IN COLOR

DRAWING EXERCISE: DRAWING FROM A COLORED PHOTO, MAGAZINE, ETC.
MEDIUM: PENCIL, WATERCOLOR, AND WATERCOLOR PAD OR DRAWING PAD
DATE: SEPTEMBER 8-10, 2010
COURSE: AR 101 - INTRODUCTION TO ART
INSTRUCTOR: MR. RAFAEL A. PULMANO
COLLEGE OF MICRONESIA-FSM (NATIONAL CAMPUS) • 2010.3 FALL

This was a pretest. Without any prior lecture/discussion about color theory and the use of watercolor and brush, the students were given a drawing assignment, i.e., to make a pencil sketch of any picture of their choice, either taken from their personal collection of photos, magazines, or images downloaded from the internet. In class, they were then told to add colors to their sketches, using watercolor and brush.

A Second Drawing in Color, which served as a posttest after lectures/discussions on color theory and subsequent production of the Color Wheel, can be viewed and compared with these drawings at this page.
