A message to my TA-101 students of Spring 2020
Soon after I announced the opportunity for extra credit, these four TA-101-05 students wasted no time at all in recording their chosen dialogs and submitting the same soon after. They are now available on my website at these links.
Let us thank and appreciate Angelina, Justin, Samantha and Andrew for their prompt submission. Note that I have added their thumbnail photos to put a face to the voice talent. They instantly attract attention, spark visitor’s interest, and add beauty to the page.
You and I are witnesses to a major shift in world history, where schools had to suddenly shut down and face-to-face sessions are replaced by virtual classes. Well, we are not just witnesses. We are actually part of it, as we face and do our best to surmount it's day-to-day challenges. Several years from now, you will look back and, with a sweet smile or a serious look on your face, you will tell part of your life's stories to younger family members and future generations about the pandemic that shook the globe, and reminisce about your heroic deeds in the midst of a harrowing pandemic. And how, by semester's end, you emerged victorious and unscarred.
That's when you will realize that those sound bytes and images of this age and time (Spring 2020), on this website, will become even more meaningful. Not only will they serve as rare treasures and artifacts of years long gone by, being used as study materials by other Conversational Tagalog I students decades after your stay at UOG. They will be enduring testament to a slice of your colorful and unforgettable past. And let's not forget the extra credit that went with it, too (lol!).
Now if you prefer not to have your thumbnail pics included, just let me know by email. I respect that.
If, on the other hand, you wish to replace your photos with your latest or cutest selfies to be displayed alongside with your voice talent, just email them to me. Pictures of your parents, siblings, relatives or friends who are collaborating with you on this activity are also welcome and will be very much appreciated.
Is there any one of you who could also share (on this website) a candid snapshot of your recording sessions for this activity? Unguarded moments that are seriously funny, captured by camera, are usually priceless! This is the stuff that makes learning fun.
